All the Italian Club selection preserves are born from the desire to offer our customers products that are, in terms of taste and quality, as close as possible to those who lovingly and patiently prepared our grandmothers for exclusively family use. Dried Tomatoes in Extra Virgin Olive Oil are a brilliant example of the excellent quality that distinguishes all the products we have selected. Their preparation begins in the middle of summer when the tomatoes, when fully ripe, are manually harvested in the fields of a Salento farm (Lecce, Puglia) which has always grown its products in a totally natural way. Immediately after harvesting, the tomatoes are selected, cut lengthwise by hand, salted and left to dry on frames under the hot Pugliese sun and caressed by the typical sea breeze. After the drying phase, the tomatoes are blanched and placed in glass jars with the only addition of natural aromas such as garlic and mint and covered with an excellent Extra Virgin Olive Oil cold pressed and 100% Italian.
Ingredients: Dried tomatoes (71%), extra virgin olive oil, garlic, mind, traces of citric acid.
This product is free of GMOs, Colorants, Artificial preservatives, synthetic antioxidants.
The Doctor says: Tomatoes are a source of valuable nutrients, especially potassium, phosphorus, vitamin C, vitamin K, and folate. The red color of the tomatoes is due to an antioxidant, lycopene, whose action is adjuvanted by two other antioxidants, namely lutein and zeaxanthin. The constant consumption of tomatoes is a valid aid to the prevention of tumors.
Suggestions for use: Dried Tomatoes are a very ancient and typical product of the southern Italian tradition. They can be enjoyed both as an appetizer and a side dish or, as is customary for many renowned chefs, they can be used to enrich many preparations of both meat and fish. The extra virgin olive oil contained in the jar can in turn be used as a condiment being of excellent quality.
