The Datterino Tomato comes with a typical date shape, from which the name and in common with the desert fruit has a sweet and tasty taste.
The peel is thin but compact and the seeds inside are few compared to other varieties.
The origins of the date are not entirely clear, it is thought that it was selected in Israel and then it would have found its ideal location in the South-Italy between the 50s and 60s to become popular only at the end of the 80s.
Since the demand for this type of tomato is constantly growing, it is produced intensively even outside the Mediterranean area and it is easy to find products grown in China on the market.
We at The Italian Club select only 100% Italian tomatoes, produced by the best companies, cultivated in a manner natural and in full respect for the environment, and processed fresh, almost at the same time as harvesting.
The Datterino tomato is a digestive fruit thanks to its fibers, it is diuretic, the presence of lycopene helps to reduce osteoporosis and acts as a good antioxidant, beta
carotene protects eyes and eyesight, has anti-cancer properties for the colon and prostate.
