Mediterranean Red Tuna Fillets 200 gr - Antica Tonnara di Favignana
The bluefin tuna processed by the Antica Tonnara di Favignana is a product derived solely from fresh fish caught between mine and June, a period in which this fish is in the best organic conditions to be processed. Released in the Mediterranean after the long ocean voyage he begins to feed on bluefish of excellent quality, this type of diet gives his meat a unique flavor and the ideal quantity of omega-three fats that make it unique.
The caught tuna is transferred to the production plant of the company, on the same day where it will be cut and left in ice water to favor the bleeding and the closure of the fibers, at the end of this process it is transferred to large perforated steel baskets that will favor the steam cooking, once cooked the slices are transferred to special ventilated cells that allow the fish to dry perfectly.
Once the first crucial steps have been completed, the cooked fish is ready to be transferred to the stowage department where, skilled hands, transform the large slices into perfect fillets and place them in jars of different weights; finally, an extra virgin olive oil cultivar from the Belice valley is poured into the jars, this very particular cold-pressed oil from the quality of the Nocellara and Biancolilla olives denotes a very low acidity and does not in any way affect the natural taste of the precious red tuna. At the end of this process, the jar is closed and sterilized.
The bluefin tuna from the Antica Tonnara di Favignana company was awarded by Gambero Rosso magazine as the best tuna in oil in Italy.

Storage method: The product is stored at room temperature, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Once opened, remove the contents from the box and store it in the fridge. It is recommended to consume the product 3 days after opening.
